koats for kids

Koats for Kids is a community-wide effort to provide coats for families in Dane and Jefferson Counties. For the past 36 years, this coat drive has helped area families facing financial hardships by providing them with coats and other winter gear.

Since the program’s inception in 1986, Koats for Kids has collected, cleaned, and distributed 334,935 coats to those in need!

Frequently Asked Questions

Distribution locations will be announced soon. They can be found on this page and CAC’s Facebook Page (click here).

Some things to know:

  • You do not need an ID or an appointment.
  • When you arrive you will be asked to complete an intake form. It is optional but does help us improve next year’s event.
  • You may take as many coats as you need. It is okay to get coats for people who are not present at the event.

If you do not have a current COVID-19 Vaccine, please wear a mask

Non-profits, schools, and other social-service agencies play a vital role in the distribution of coats. Representatives can pick up coats during regular hours of operations.

At some distribution locations, agencies can pick up coats before we open to the general public. Email Oliver Soler at olivers@cacscw.org to learn more about options for agency pick-up.
