Join Us for the CAC Winter Glow Events in Waukesha and Jefferson County!
Winter is fast approaching, and it’s time for the Community Action Coalition’s (CAC) annual Winter Glow event! We are excited to announce that this year, Winter Glow will feature two fantastic events in both Waukesha and Jefferson County. These events aim to provide essential resources and support to our local communities during the colder months. Read on for all the details you need to participate and make a difference.
Join us at the Waukesha Public Library for Winter Glow! On Thursday, October 15h, families can receive essential winter gear for their children at no cost. Registration will take place at the event.
Join Boys & Girls Clubs of Dane County for its Koats 4 Kids distribution event on Friday, October 23, 2026, from 4–6 p.m. at three locations near Madison, WI. Families can receive winter coats for adults and children while supplies last. Community Action Coalition for South Central Wisconsin (CAC) will also be onsite at the Allied Family Center sharing information and connecting families with available community resources and programs.
Join us at Luther Elementary School for Winter Glow! On Tuesday, October 27th, families are welcome to pick out children’s winter wear to help keep kids warm all season long. Registration will take place at the event.
Jefferson County Winter Glow Event
Date: Thursday, October 19th, 2023
Time: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Location: Johnson Creek Premium Outlets, Store A-100 (next to the Hanes store)
The Jefferson County Winter Glow event will take place indoors at the Johnson Creek Mall. We are delighted to offer FREE coats to registered and eligible guests. Additionally, vaccines will be available from 2pm-5pm courtesy of O’Connell Pharmacy. Join us, along with other community partners, for a day of community support and togetherness.
*Please note that home goods and toiletries will not be available at this location.

Waukesha County Winter Glow Event
Date: Tuesday, October 24th, 2023
Time: 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Location: Food Pantry of Waukesha County
The Waukesha County event is a resource fair where CAC, along with other organizations, will be offering home-good items such as shampoo, deodorant, soap, body wash, toothpaste, toothbrushes, body wipes, and snack bags (courtesy of United Way). Additionally, there will be a FREE vaccine clinic available from 11:30am-2:30pm courtesy of Hayat Pharmacy. Vaccines offered include flu shots and COVID-19 boosters.
*Please note that coats will not be available at this location this year.

Make a Donation
Donating a coat for our Winter Glow event is easy and incredibly impactful! Simply drop off children’s coats (from toddlers to high schoolers) at one of our designated collection locations:

Koats for Kids in Madison and Dane Area
If you are in the Madison or Dane area, don’t miss out on the Koats for Kids event organized by the Boys and Girls Club of Dane County. See below for all the available dates, times and locations.
Friday, October 20th, 2023
Time: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Locations:
- The Erica & Anthony Fleming Boys & Girls Club (formerly the Taft Street Club), 2001 Taft Street, Madison
- The McKenzie Family Boys & Girls Club, 232 Windsor Street, Sun Prairie.
CAC will be attending the 2001 Taft Street event and providing home goods to those in need. Home goods items such as shampoo, deodorant, soap, body wash, toothpaste, toothbrushes, body wipes, and snack bags provided by United Way will be available. A vaccine clinic will also be on-site.
