JEFFERSON COUNTY — The Community Action Coalition for South Central Wisconsin (CACSCW) was one of several organizations across the nation that carried out the semiannual “Point-in-Time” survey Wednesday night.

The survey, mandated by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), aims to tally the number of locals who are experiencing homelessness in a specific area on a specific night.

About 12 CACSCW members were separated into groups to divide and conquer in searching throughout Jefferson County, searching high and low in Fort Atkinson, Jefferson, Waterloo and the easternmost part of Cambridge, in addition to the county’s smaller communities.
