Returning October 2024

Winter Glow is an annual program organized by CAC with the aim of providing essential resources and support to families with school aged-children in need during the colder months. Through Winter Glow, we strive to ensure that everyone in our communities has access to the necessary resources to stay warm, healthy, and supported throughout the winter season.

What We Offer:

  • Resource Fair: Winter Glow features resource fairs where CAC and partnering organizations come together to provide vital resources such as toiletries, home goods, and more. These fairs serve as a one-stop-shop for individuals and families to access the support they need to thrive during the winter months.
  • Winter Attire: One of the highlights of Winter Glow is the distribution of free winter attire, like coats and hats, to school-aged children under the age of 19. We understand the importance of staying warm during the colder months, and our coat distribution program helps ensure that everyone in our communities has access to this basic necessity.

How to Get Involved:

  • Attend an Event: Our two Winter Glow events take place in Waukesha and Jefferson County. We invite members of our community to join us at these events to access resources, and pick up a free coat if needed. There will also be a Koats for Kids event around the same time in Dane County run by our partners at Boys and Girls Club of Dane County.
  • Donate Winter Clothing: You can contribute to the success of Winter Glow by donating new or gently used coats for toddlers and school-aged children (kindergarten through high school). Donation bins are available at select locations across Waukesha and Jefferson County, making it easy for you to make a difference in the lives of local children.
  • Make a Donation: Your financial support enables us to continue offering programs like Winter Glow and to expand our impact in the community. Consider making a donation to CAC to support our ongoing efforts to address poverty, hunger, and homelessness in our communities.
  • Become a Sponsor: As a sponsor of Winter Glow, your generosity and commitment to community welfare will be recognized and celebrated. Your organization's logo will be prominently displayed at Winter Glow events, on promotional materials, and on the CAC website, showcasing your dedication to positive change.

Winter Glow is a testament to the power of community coming together to support one another. Join us in spreading warmth and hope this winter season through Winter Glow.
