These 2-day Virtual Psychological First Aid Trainings, offered by Jenny Wiley, are for healthcare employees in Dane County. Psychological First Aid is an intervention model for working with disaster survivors in the immediate aftermath of a traumatic event. It focuses on approaches to self-care during an emergency; it is designed to reduce the initial distress and to foster adaptive functioning.
The training runs from 8:30 am-12:30 pm on both January 15th and 16th. Participants must attend both training days to accumulate 8-hours of training.
This course, normally valued at $50, is free for participants thanks to funding provided by the Mental Health and Trauma Recovery Grant.
