The Waukesha County Services Division provides funding to nonprofit organizations that are working to address the needs of individuals and families living in poverty.

Events

Informational Meeting and Volunteer Training for Affordable Housing in Waukesha County: In an effort to gain public recognition and community support about the impact that limited affordable housing is having on Waukesha County citizens, CAC and The Waukesha County Affordable Housing Task Force are holding an informational session and volunteer training opportunity.

When: March 18, 2010
Where: Hope Center in Waukesha
Time: 4:00 p.m.

This session is free. Waukesha County volunteers are needed to help organize materials, make phone calls, distribute petitions, and promote the work of this community campaign.

The Smart Tenant Workshop: If you are in need of advice on tenant laws and regulations and want to know what your rights are, then come to the workshop. For more information call (920) 262-9667 and check out the flyer!

Housing

The Sister House
This shelter for battered women and their children is the only shelter specifically designed to address domestic violence in Waukesha County. Funding will be used to pay for nights of care at the shelter for women experiencing poverty .
 

Hebron House of Hospitality’s Jeremy House Safe Haven
This house provides emergency shelter to homeless individuals with mental illness.  Jeremy House provides an entry into the mental health system, referrals to employment opportunities, advocacy case management, and budget counseling to help each guest work on their specific barrier.
