The Uplands, an affordable housing community in Sun Prairie, is being developed as a joint venture of three nonprofit agencies: Community Action Coalition for South Central Wisconsin, Inc., Movin’ Out, Inc., and the Wisconsin Partnership for Housing Development, Inc.

The Uplands is located on a 40-acre parcel on the east side of Sun Prairie, and is designed as a traditional neighborhood, offering smaller lots, narrower streets and a pedestrian-friendly environment. An existing 13-acre natural area will be preserved as a neighborhood focal point. The neighborhood will ultimately consist of 143 homes (40 rental) in a mix of single-family homes, twin homes, and condominiums. A portion of land in the neighborhood has been dedicated to the City of Sun Prairie for use as a city park, which will be designed with resident input about potential uses, such as community gardening.
