Koats for Kids

For 25 years, CAC has led a community-wide effort to ensure that no families in Dane County will face the Wisconsin winter without warm winter coats because of financial hardship. CAC collects and distributes coats, hats, mittens and other winter clothing items for distribution to children and adults experiencing poverty. Coats are donated by the public, cleaned by Klinke Cleaners and distributed by CAC in early fall each year. In 2010, over 5,000 people in the Madison area received coats through Koats for Kids.
CAC also operates a Koats for Kids effort in Jefferson County. Coats in Jefferson County are collected and cleaned by Lake Mills Cleaners and distributed at the Jefferson Public Library. In 2010, Koats for Kids in Jefferson County provided coats to over 460 people.
