Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF)
Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) offers a wide range of supportive services to veteran households with limited incomes, including housing stability services and both VA and non-VA services that support family well-being. Housing stability includes preventing the loss of current housing and, when needed, finding alternate housing that is both safe and affordable.
For eligible individuals and families with restricted incomes, this program offers a way to catch up on past due telephone bills, including a cell phone or Internet bill threatening the loss of service. To receive short-term financial assistance, you may be advised to change your service plan(s) to a more cost-effective option.
Transitional Housing Program (THP)
This program offers up to 24 months of coaching and rental assistance to help eligible participants find and maintain housing. The Transitional Housing Program is for those with limited household incomes that are either homeless or at-risk of homelessness. The Transitional Housing Caseworker reaches out to those with limited incomes who are on the Jefferson County Continuum of Care (CoC) housing priority list. If you think may be eligible, contact CAC for more information and be assessed for the CoC housing priority list.
Emergency Shelter Motel Voucher Program
For those who are literally homeless by definition according to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), this program offers temporary shelter stays in a local hotel. During the hotel stay, CAC staff will work with you to find a long-term housing solution and address other concerns that may be getting in the way of long-term housing.
Housing Resource & Referral
This program offers housing navigation services and information and referral on supportive housing options in Jefferson County. Please be prepared to answer some basic questions about your household and housing situation. Housing Resource & Referral is available weekdays from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
In this limited-term program, your caseworker will help you find housing and may assist with rental assistance and covering the cost of a security deposit. They also offer coaching and support for any concerns that might affect your long-term housing. The Rapid Re-Housing program is an option for those who are literally homeless by definition according to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and have a limited household income.
